Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 特殊教育學系在職進修專班 === 89 === The purposes of this study were (1) to explore the ecological systems of music class students at elementary schools in mid-Taiwan area; (2) to compare the difference of ecological systems according to sociological variables, including gender, socioeconomic status, areas and family types; (3) to provide the direction and suggestion of parent education and teaching guidance for authoritiesَ policy-making. The 393 parents of third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade students were randomly sampled form seven elementary schools with music classes in mid-Taiwan. The 4 students with highest and 4 students with lowest scores were purposefully sampled as interviewees in this study. The instruments used in the study were: Ecological Systems Inventory of Special Children by Quin-Saw Wu and I-Ying Liu, and the Guideline of Interview by researcher himself. The statistic analysis was performed with T-test, one-way ANOVA and Scheffَe method. Form the analysis of data, the following results were found: 1. The condition of the ecological system of elementary school music class students was good in microsystem which includes the interaction between individual and family members. However, a small part of the low-scores group used to argue with parents because of the interruption of their practicing. For the mesosystem, most of the music class students enjoyed the life in school and the good relationship with teachers, classmates, neighbors and relatives. For the exosystem, the parents of music class seldom discussed with neighbors or co-workers how to raise children, neither visited other friendsَ house with their children. They paid serious attention on the influence of mass media, cared about the TV programes watched by the children and helped children to choose the right books to read. Besides, the parents often took children to the music concerts through the teachers’ recommendation. For the mascrosystem, most of the parents cared about childrenَ legal rights and the policy toward music class education. On the contrary, the students of music class were too young to perceive, so they couldn’t pay attention to the influence of law and policy. Nearly half of the parents believed that they could not express their opinions thoroughly about the music education. The students were satisfied about existing music education, but still hoped that the government and school to buy more instruments with periodic maintenance. The parents were looking forward to attach correct values to their children through belief. 2. There was no significant difference in the means scores of ecological system in terms of gender of music class students. It meant that these studentsَ microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem, macrosystem and the whole ecological system were not affected by gender. In addition to exosystem, there were no significant differences in the means scores of ecological system in terms of socioeconomic status, music class students of different areas and different family types. According to the results of this study, the researcher proposed some recommendations for families and schools.
