The Meaning of Senior Counselor Development

Abstract
The purposes of this study were to explore the meaning of counselor development.
The participants of this study were four senior professional counselors. Research data was collected by interview and understood from the hermeneutic view.
According to the analysis, the meaning of counselor development can be understood from five prospects: “be myself or be a good counselor? “, “the purpose of developing one’s own counseling theory”, “self-healing”, “dark side of counselors”, “doing and being” and one holistic insight: “homecoming”.
