It makes the echo canceller fail to trace the room impulse response especially for some error feedback adaptive filter like LMS and RLS. In this thesis, we use the Expanded Correlation LMS algorithm to solve the double-talk problem. This algorithm is based on the processing of the correlation functions of the input signal instead of processing of input signal itself. The ECLMS algorithm has high value of the echo return loss enhancement but needs high computational complexity. Therefore, we propose a simplified ECLMS algorithm to reduce the complexity of the ECLMS. To adapt the algorithm to the practical speech implementation, the orthogonal ECLMS was proposed. The theoretical analysis and the computer simulation show that the ECLMS and the OECLMS have good convergence performance to the echo cancellation even the double-talk condition existed. S. F.
