Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 土木工程系 === 89 === Although the growth of high-tech industrial facilities has been recently increasing due to the recent booming in electrical technology markets, the construction of these facilities is still experience-based and no construction knowledge has been well statistically analyzed and well documented. Without such knowledge for sharing between high-tech project practitioners, construction management techniques may not be appropriately applied to future projects. The objective of this study is to investigate the characteristics of high-tech construction projects by using questionnaire method and expert interviews. The results should help construction practitioners to have a better sense of the characteristics of high-tech construction projects and support their decision-making in facing new projects. The thirty-nine sample projects collected by questionnaire are mainly located at Hsin-Chu and Tainan science-based industrial parks. The characteristics listed in the questionnaire are such as the location, size, main construction method, team organization, and the construction management techniques applied in planning, design, procurement, construction, and maintenance phases. The sample data are statistically analyzed, provided with the corresponding interpretations that are retrieved from the expert interviews for three case projects. Finally, based on the collected sample data, a database retrieving system is developed for supporting management in understanding the performance of the historical projects with similar project characteristics.
