碩士 === 國立體育學院 === 體育研究所 === 89 === ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to understand the demands for professional competencies in recreational sport instructors, based on guestimares distributed to 360 workers among electronic industry in Hsinchu area. Collected data used gender, education, sinority, and age as independent variables, and demands for professional competencies (instruction, professional knowledge, and professional skill) as dependent variables. Through statistic Chi-Square test, t-test and one-way ANOVA, we arrived at the following conclusions. 1.Where than 90% of workers did not know about the certification regulation for recreational sport instructors, more than 80% the workers wish to participate in recreational sports supervised by qualified instructors, more than 70% the workers thinked they might ask qualified groups to sponsor recreational sports. 2.Gender consistently had a high demand for leadership, In 7 items milder professional knowledge and 3 under professional skills, differences were very marked. 3.Workers in different work units all had high demands for recreational sport instructors, and paid special attention to sports instructor’s professional knowledge and professional skills with regards to first aid and safety measures. 4.The higher the educational level of a worker, the lower the demand for recreational sport directors, in 13 items under professional knowledge and 26 items under professional skills, there were marked differences. 5.The higher the seniority level of a worker, the higher the demand for recreational sport directors, different seniority level showed different demands for leadership professional knowledge and skill. 6.Workers from 30 to 50 years old and those under 30 showed different attitiondes forwards 11 items under professional knowledge and 18 items under professional skills, the workers from 30 to 50 were more concerned. 7.This study showed that the workers from the electronic industry Hsinchu had high demands for recreational sport directors. Professional knowledge of the health aspects of sports, the physiology and psychology of sports, physical activities for the old and program planning for youths, etc. were regarded as most important. of the professional skills, first — aid and safety meamares ,related knowledge of sports, and handling of customer’s complaints were regarded as mart important.
