On the other hand, a recent Japanese research indicated that the conflicts which Taiwanese church schools suffered under KOHMIKA movement were consequences of the fights between Japanese Nationalism and Taiwanese Ethnocentrism, and the foreign missionaries were collusions while Japanese destroyed Taiwanese Ethnocentrism. This study tries to re-discuss the issues of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan under KOMINKA movements by using missionaries'' records and newspapers. The dissertation is divided into 7 Chapters, including Introduction and Conclusion. The main discussion is arranged in the following order: What is KOHMINKA movement; the Shrine Problem of Tainan Presbyterian Middle School; the Foreign Settlement Problem in Tamsui; the uneasy way of Recognitions of Tainan Presbyterian Middle School and Girls'' School; the Theological Colleges before the Pacific War. The main conclusions of this study are as follows: 1. The foreign missionaries were managers of church schools as well as the representatives dealing with the problems of these schools under KOHMINKA movement. 2. The Japanese officers who dealt with the problems did not try to seize or destroy these schools. On the contrary, they tried to protect the schools from being attacked by Japanese Right-wings and Japanese Militarism. 3. Foreign missionaries, the managers of the schools, took a Christian attitude toward the KOHMINKA movement problems without any ethnic thoughts. 鍾淑敏 2001 學位論文 ; thesis 110 zh-TW |
