Time is irreversible; so is the experience of space . From this viewpoint movement become one of the key issues when making and reading spaces.
When experiencing spaces, sequences happen naturally. The sequence can be seen as the interface of TIME and SPACE. Therefore, it can play the role of the editor of SPACE. This is the basic idea that supports this investigation.
The thesis includes four parts:
1 Introduce the idea of sequence and how it related to time and space.
2 Take a music score as resource for studying the art of sequential composition
3 Create a transferring system that make flexible interchanges of musical units and architectural elements possible.
4 Presenting a design exercise to illustrate the applications of the sequential rules in creating spaces and to explore the potentials and limits of the method
