Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 建築學系 === 89 === The thesis is about using “section” as a tool for reading and creating spaces. It consists of four parts: Ⅰ. Standpoint Section reveals internal structure of space. “Cut”is an action of revealing , and“section”is the result. Reversely , by extending a section , a space can be formed. Ⅱ. Language of section The essence of the section is about the vertical relationships of spaces. There are 18 basic section diagrams that can be used as a kind of spatial language, by which we can recognize and describe any given section in terms of the compositions of the basic sectional prototypes. Ⅲ. Exercise The objectives of the exercise are twofolds: to test the descriptive capacities of the section language, and to understand the effective procedures of applying the language for spatial design. Ⅳ. Demonstration By a design case to present the inter-sectional design theory and method. The demonstration will use all the diagrams from the study. Seeing is “secting” , by which things reveal. What you see depends on how you decide to intervene. A good way of seeing (and secting) can make things easier and hopefully better: for designing, for understanding, and for everything in the world.
