Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 水利及海洋工程學系 === 89 === Sea water intrusion is main effect in coastal aquifers. If we build a cut-off wall in coastal aquifers, not only it can prevent sea water intrusion inland in coastal aquifers, but also can gain fresh water for the use of resources. On the other hand the rise of fresh ground water level can prevent the subsidence of ground surface.
This experiment is undertaken with deep cut-off wall in coastal aquifers. The shape of interface is formed due to the combinations of fresh water level and sea water level. Such experiment is expected to simulate the real condition, and improves the seawater intrusion and the use of fresh water.
According to the experiment the deep cut-off wall has significant effect to prevent sea water intrusion. If we want to prevent sea water intrusion we must have high fresh water level which can be raised by the panel. The deep panel will cause long interface but has a smaller portion of area of sea water intrusion. The salt wedge in the deep zone produces only little harm. With the same length of panel, the relative levels of fresh water and sea water will determine the shape of interface.
