Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 工業設計學系 === 89 === This research tried to construct the corresponding relationship between Kansei vocabularies and products form from a viewpoint of formal features. In employing Kansei Engineering methods, besides the pictures of products, image boards were used to help subjects describe their feelings in Kansei vocabularies. And hence, the most direct corresponding relationship between products and subjects’ Kansei could be mapped while subjects’ feeling about products form being investigated. In order to promote the possibility of creating different types of products, “formal features” instead of “form elements” were adopted in form analysis.
This research proceeded in four stages. In the first stage, the corresponding relationship between pictures of products/image boards and adjectives were constructed. In the second stage, the quantitative relationship between Kansei vocabulary and pictures of products/image boards was constructed via questionnaire and statistical analysis. In the third stage, the formal features extracted from representative pictures of products and images by three professional industrial designers were used to build 3D models of products as samples to be evaluated latter by subjects. Artificial neural network was used in constructing the corresponding relationship between Kansei vocabulary and products form at this stage.
According to the relationship built, varied products with seven different Kansei images were created, including “sporty”, “cute”, “simple”, “sporty + cute”, “sporty + simple”, “cute + simple” and “sporty + cute + simple”. In the forth stage, the research hypotheses were tested and the results were evaluated. The test indicated that some products created did satisfy users’ Kansei needs.
