Establish the nutrition model of dietary energy and protein on the dairy goat in Taiwan

博士 === 國立中興大學 === 畜產學系 === 89 === The objectives of this study were to investigate the rapid evaluation method applied on the metabolic energy (ME) of roughage in Taiwan, and determine the rate of rumen degraded protein to various protein feedstuff in order for dairy goat. The measured values of ME,...

The measured values of ME, and crude protein, and the rumen undegraded protein (UIP) value applied in dietary ration formula to improve milk production and to establish the nutrition level and model for early, middle and dry period stage of dairy goat in Taiwan, the respectively. The results manifested that the value of ME obtained from rapid in vitro method had high relation with those of from in vivo of dairy goat, hence in the rapid evaluation method would be used to determine the ME value and to evaluate the quality of forage in Taiwan, and to apply the commonforage in Taiwan combined with the different protein sources to generate various level of energy and crude protein and undegraded protein in order for early lactation stage of dairy goat. Consequently, net energy at 1.66 Mcal/kg, crude protein at 16% and UIP at 35%in the diet will satisfy about 60kg body weight to lactate 3.0kg milk per day of dairy goat during the early lactation period. During the middle of lactation period, fed the diet contenting 1.65Mcal/kg NEL, 15% crude protein and 32-35% rumen undegraded protein is suitable this period of dairy goat to reduce the detriment about the decreasing rate of milk and keep milk produce at 2.5kg per day until the seventh month postpartum. For the final pregnancy period, supplied a diet contenting 1.52Mcal/kg NEL, 13% crude protein and 35-38% rumen undegraded protein and used high quality fish meal as protein source, will exhibit better performance on parturient efficiency and kid of born body weight and survival rate. However, those results obtained from this study will be to establish the nutrition mode to serve as basic reference and increase marginal benefit for dairy goat producers. Peter W. S.
