Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 土木工程學系 === 89 === The evolution of the river bed profile is related to the mechanism of sediment transport, including the interaction of flow and sediment. Therefore, the estimation of the sediment transport rate is very important for the watershed management, the clearance of reservoir sedimentation, and the soil and water conservation. In this study, a series of laboratory experiment is performed to investigate the transport characteristics of non-uniform gravel for steep channels in Taiwan. Both the particle size distribution and flow discharge were fixed, and four different initial slopes (2~5%) were selected to investigate the sorting phenomenon during the overloading and under-loading experiments. The data collection for the complicated evolution phenomenon of the natural rivers is difficult. The laboratory experiments and the numerical simulation conducted in this study can offer useful information for the future modeling of river evolution.
