Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立政治大學 === 經營管理碩士學程 === 89 === ABSTRACT American academia raised Japanese Management from 1970s to 1980s. However, Japanese economy had bubbled rapidly since1990s. Hence Japanese occupied in looking for a solution to tide it over. Through the process of seeking the solution, Japanese focus on electronic industry especially in semiconductor. The purpose of the case study tried to find out the variable and relationship among technological knowledge characteristics, organization structure and knowledge management from PC era to IA era, and provided the management method for the reference of related industries. This thesis tried to discuss the following objectives: l To realize what model of technological knowledge characteristics on Japanese semiconductors in PC era? l How the technological knowledge characteristics impact on the organizational structures and knowledge management in Japanese semiconductors'' industries? l Whether the original characteristics of technological knowledge is proper to be adopted or not after entering IA era. Whether technological knowledge characteristics, organizational management and knowledge management are shifted or not? According to the analyses of the 4 cases, the author has generated the following conclusions: A. Technological Knowledge Characteristics can affect the complexity of members in an organization 1. Variability of Technological Knowledge can influence the complexity of members in an organization. 1-1 If Variability of Technological Knowledge is lower, the complexity of members in an organization is lower. 1-2 If Variability of Technological Knowledge is higher, the complexity of members in an organization is higher. 2. Explicitness of Technological Knowledge can influence the complexity of members in an organization. 2-1 If Explicitness of Technological Knowledge is unchanged, the complexity of members in an organization is unaltered. 2-2 If Explicitness of Technological Knowledge becomes higher, the complexity of members in an organization becomes higher. 3. The relationship between "Standardization of Technological Knowledge" and "the complexity of members in an organization" is unobvious. 4. If the Path Dependency of Technological Knowledge is changed from high to low, it will affect the complexity of members in an organization changed from low to high. 5. The complexity of technological knowledge can influence the complexity of members in an organization. 5-1 If the complexity of technological knowledge gets higher, the complexity of members becomes higher. 5-2 If the complexity of technological knowledge gets lower, the complexity of members becomes lower. B、 Technological Knowledge Characteristics can effect knowledge management of Japanese semiconductor industries 1. Variability of Technological Knowledge can affect Knowledge Absorption of an organization. 1-1 When Technological Knowledge Variability moves up, organization will think highly of Absorption of Technological Knowledge. 1-2 When Technological Knowledge Variability moves down, organization won''t think highly of the Absorption of Technological Knowledge. 1-3 Even Variability of Technological Knowledge moves down, Organization would think highly of Marketing Knowledge Absorption. 2. Explicitness of Technological Knowledge can affect Knowledge Absorption of an organization. 2-1 Explicitness of Technological Knowledge can affect duration of Knowledge creation and Knowledge Absorption. 2-2 Explicitness of Technological Knowledge can affect Knowledge Accumulation and Knowledge Expansion actions in an organization. 2-3 Explicitness of Technological Knowledge is related to the span of objects of knowledge expansion. 2-4 Explicitness of Organization Technological Knowledge is related with Cost. 3. Path Dependency of Technological Knowledge can affect organization knowledge Absorption. 3-1.The organizations with higher Knowledge Path Dependency discourage innovation. 3-2. Japanese semiconductors lay particular stress on developing the products of higher Path Dependency of Technological Knowledge. 4. Path Dependency of Technological Knowledge can affect styles of teams of Knowledge Creation. 4-1. When an organization tries to develop a product with reformed innovation, the origination would trend to developing the new product with a functional team. 4-2. When an organization tried to develop a new product with a platform innovation, the organization would trend to proceed with its product with a light team. 5. Standardization of Technological Knowledge can affect Technological Knowledge Creation. 5-1. When Technological Knowledge Standardization is higher, RD team would communicate the concept and technology of products with the marketing standard. 6. Complexity of Technological System can affect the source of Knowledge Absorption. 6-1. When Complexity of Technological System becomes higher, the sources of Knowledge Absorption generated variously. 6-2. When Technological System Complexity becomes lower, the source types of Knowledge Absorption generated simply. C. Organization structure is related with Knowledge Management 1. Organization Structure is related with Knowledge Absorption. 1-1. Organization Structure Expansion is related with the source of Marketing Knowledge Absorption. 1-2. Organization Structure Expansion is related with the source of Organization Technological Knowledge Absorption. 2. Organization Structure is related with the capability of Knowledge Expansion. 2-1. Extending Organization Structure is related to the generating members of Knowledge Expansion. 2-2. Possessing the original Organization Structure is related to maintaining alike members of knowledge Expansion. D. Other research discovering 1. To evaluate Complexity of IC System should be based on the quantity of component, the manufacturing process, the level of technological reorganization, the fields of technological knowledge and the factors in working hour of developing products. 2. Explicitness of Technological Knowledge should not be classified as an Industrial Variable.
