In general, the watermark information contains the origin, copyright and status of digital images. In this thesis, a fragile watermarking technology that can be used for image verification and alteration detection is first proposed. The second technology in this thesis is a robust watermarking technique that can be applied for intelligent copyright protection.
In the first approach of this thesis, a concept of binary bitplane is employed to embed watermark information. Any alteration of the image can be detected and localized. In the second approach, the determinant is exploited to develop a robust watermarking method. The method can be used to create transparent robust watermarks in images. In order to achieve higher security on both of the proposed approaches, pseudo random mechanisms are employed to improve undetectable of watermarks.
Experimental results show that the proposed approaches are feasible and effective.
