Summary:碩士 === 高雄醫學大學 === 護理學研究所 === 89 === The purpose of this study was to understand disaster nursing activities and to examine the needs and perceptions of disaster nurses toward disaster nursing. A survey-study with structured questionnaires was used for data collection. The subjects were selected from 3 southern medical centers which sent the disaster medical teams to the 921 earthquake disaster site in Taiwan. Among 157 disaster assistance nurses, 146 agreed to participate in this study and complete the questionnaires. In order to contrast the situations of assistance disaster site, 157 nurses without assistance experience were recruited by matching method. The questionnaires include the Demographic Inventory, Disaster Nursing Activities Scale, Basic Needs Scale, Training Needs Scale, and Assistance Perceptions Scale. The validity and reliability of the questionnaires were tested and satisfactory. The data was analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, chi-square test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product moment correction, Spearman’s rank correction, and stepwise multiple regression. The results were as follows: (1)The highest frequency of disaster nursing activities was medication and assistant treatment in the temporary station(94.5﹪).The secondary frequency of disaster nursing activities was health education(92.5﹪).(2)In the related needs, basic needs were above middle level (78.3﹪), and training needs were high level(86.5﹪).The positive perceptions were above middle level(78.4﹪). The assistance nurses’ basic needs were lower , motivation and training needs were higher than the non-assistance nurses’. (3)A higher level of basic needs was significantly associated with junior college. A higher level of training needs was significantly associated with emergency department. A higher level of the positive perceptions was significantly associated with junior college, nurse 1 level (N1), general units, non-training experience. (4)The training needs and education level were the significantly predicators in basic needs, which explained 20.0﹪ of the total amount variance. (5)The basic needs were the significantly predicators in training needs, which explained 16.6﹪ of the total amount variance. (6)The number of training categories, training needs, and education level were the significantly predicators in assistance perceptions, which explained 14.8﹪ of the total amount variance. . The result of this study provided information for nursing activities of disaster assistance nurses, the related needs and assistance perceptions toward disaster nursing. The study can be used to design the training plan, develop the education program, act as reference for the future investigation, and format policy of the disaster nursing.
