Description
Summary:碩士 === 高雄醫學大學 === 行為科學研究所 === 89 === Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common disorders in childhood. Among a variety of treatment approaches parent training is considered helpful. This study intends to evaluate the effectiveness of a parent-training program. Fourteen ADHD preschoolers were recruited, and their parents, mostly mothers, were invited to participate a 10-session training program. Three rating scales were used to evaluate the training effect before, during, and after the program. These rating scales included the Disruptive Behavior Disorder Rating Scale — Parent Form (DBDRS-PF), the Home Situation Questionnaire (HSQ), and the Children Attention Profile (CAP). The results were indicated: (1) a significant improvement in the Inattention symptoms, Hyperactivity-Impulsivity symptoms, and symptoms of the Oppositional Defiant Disorder on the DBDRS-PF; (2) a significant decline in the total score and the mean severity on the HSQ, (3) a significant decrease in the total score, the inattention score, and the overactivity score on the CAP, and (4) a significant positive correlation between the use of special time and time-out techniques as well as a reduction in the Inattention symptoms on the DBDRS-PF.
