In this thesis, a blind equalizer for nonlinear multi-user communication system is discussed and applied to a CDMA system. Using adaptive algorithm, such as RLS(Recursive Least Square), and the value of Higher Order Statistics in the receiver to design the blind equalizer.
In general, we need an adaptive equalizer which uses a reference signal, to overcome ISI(Intersymbol Interference) and MAI(Multiple Access Interference), but this kind of method has many constraints, such as the time to operate and the synchronization between the transmitter and the receiver. In this thesis, the method of blind equalizer without reference signals is exploited to solve this problem.
We use the concept of Null Space and SVD (Singular Value Decomposition) to analyze the signal in the receiver directly, and estimate the original signal by algorithms which are based on the criterion of Recursive Least Square and Higher Order Statistics Signal Theory. Finally, we apply these methods to nonlinear multi-user and multi-channels CDMA systems.
