Summary:碩士 === 大葉大學 === 事業經營研究所 === 89 === 英文摘要 Taiwan’s 2nd democratic presidential election ushered in a dramatic transformation in the island’s political and economic landscape. The raise of a new political party created unprecedented tensions within the government; this fueled opposition towards new government policies initiated by the novice leadership.Taiwan-once economically strong and vibrant─now braced itself for a slowdown in market activity, employment, exports, and so on.Responsibility for the weakening economy should be placed on the new government’s domestic and economic and fiscal policies, which are unsteady and lack direction. The decline of stock market activities also signals the raising discontent with the government’s handling of affairs. The island’s deteriorating economic environment and investment climate have especially affected national computer companies, who are facing decline in consumer demands. In light of international competition and demand, many of these companies looked to move production across the straits as a cost-cutting measure to lower manufacturing costs of notebook computers;they were, however, restrained by the restrictive investment policies ”Jie Gi Jun Zen”*. Nevertheless,Taiwan’s current continuous internal political turmoil─combined with the worsening local investment climate─has prompted the flight of these computer firms to Mainland China. This report will highlight the cases of varies computer firms─GuangDa, Acer, Leo, Twinhead─to verify the above-mentioned statement. What is certain is that the future investment policies in Mainland China of the government will have a direct affect on the development of Taiwan’s computer industry. * “Jie Gi Jun Zen” means “戒急用忍”
