The functions include compensation of the load current harmonics, reactive power and three-phase unbalanced currents aiming that the input currents are balanced with low distortion and the input power factor is unity. As for the control method, the synchronous-frame-based algorithm for reactive power compensation combined with the band-pass filter for harmonic current calculation is adopted for achieving a better filtering performance under the distorted voltage supply. A real power compensation technique is also proposed for balancing the unbalanced load currents. The cascaded series load current sensing method accompanying with the capacity-limitation control (including the reactive power capacity, harmonic current amplitude and unbalanced load power limitations) is employed to make multiple APFs can be paralleled without any control interconnection.
