Two adolescent survivors were recruited to participate in this study. Depth interview was conducted to collect data and the grounded theory method was used to analyze data. The findings were as follows: (1) The reactions during mourning process of bereaved adolescents could be classified into four categories, including thinking, feeling, behavior, and physical reactions. (2) The mourning process consists of four phases: early mourning phase; acute mourning phase; faded mourning phase; and adaptation phase. (3) The mourning process of bereaved adolescents could be conceptualized as a series of psychological tasks that must be accomplished over time. Early tasks include understanding and self-protection; middle-phase tasks include acceptance and reworking; and late tasks pertain to identification and development. (4) The mourning process involves two control strategies: loss-oriented control and restoration-oriented control. Limitations of this study and suggested direction for future studies are discussed. Keywords: Mourning process, grief, adolescent, the grounded theory method Pei-Yung Liang HSIN CHIANG LEE 梁培勇 李新鏘 2001 學位論文 ; thesis 206 zh-TW
