Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 土木工程研究所 === 89 === In modern structures, there is always the case that pipes passes through the beams in order to maintain the clear height. These prefabricated openings in the beams may affect the safety and toughness of the structure. Therefore, full size reinforced concrete beams with web openings are tests in this research. The effect of the position, size and numbers of openings on the behavior of the beam is investigated. Test result shows that web opening always reduces the bending stiffness of the beam. When the location of the opening moves upwards from the bottom of the beam, the linear strength of the beam increases. However, when the opening cuts through the neutral axis at ultimate state, the toughness reduces dramatically. The ultimate bending strength of the beam is greatly affected when the opening cuts through the rectangular compression side of the beam.
