Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 電機工程研究所 === 89 === The future CDMA cellular system will support multimedia services. Different service types necessitate various quality of service (QoS) requirements. Therefore, how to manage resource effectively in order to maximize the capacity will be an important issue. The traditional power control methods fail to meet these various QoS requirements. In the thesis, both centralized and distributed power control methods based on the conception of QoS balance are proposed.
Recently, the power control problem has been formulated as the utility function for the data type. However, in those papers it was assumed that every user uses the same transmission rate. To meet the next generation cellular system, we treat the transmission rate as a factor in the utility function as well. That is, the optimum resource allocation, based on the utility function, takes both the transmission power and rate into account. In addition, a centralized method on power and transmission rate control is developed to improve the average transmission rate. In this thesis, we also propose an effective call admission control scheme, which can guarantee the performance of existence users.
