Description
Summary:碩士 === 元智大學 === 電機工程研究所 === 88 === VCO is the key component of wireless communication system, which is usually used for precise channel tuning of local oscillator of transmitter or receiver. The design target of our research is to develop a wide-band (1430MHz-2630MHz), low phase noise, low cost, compact size, single-end and balanced microwave VCOs for 950MHz - 2150MHz DBS set-top box Tuner. Therefore in this work we will study and implement 1430MHz - 2630MHz miniature microwave VCOs by multi-chip-module integration technology. This technology includes the processes of single layer PC board hybrid integration circuit; ceramic thick film integrated circuit and monolithic microwave integrated circuit. Though the phase noise of MMIC VCO is higher than MIC VCO, some systems, such as short-range wireless communication and DBS set-top box tuner, are still tolerable with MMIC. In the implementation of wide-band single-end microwave VCO, the measured results indicate: The size is 10mmx10mm, output power of all kinds of VCO are at least 4.5dBm and phase noise are below -100dBc/Hz offset at 100kHz. The implementation of wide-band balanced microwave VCO consist of two wide-band single-end microwave VCO, their respective output signals have equal amplitude and are 180°out of phase. The size is 18mmx10mm, output power of all kinds of VCO are at least 4dBm and phase noise are below -98dBc/Hz offset at 100kHz.
