For these purposes, the thesis uses UML’s Class Diagram to model the knowledge of concepts in a book. Because of generality of relations, it is easy to extend this method to express concepts & relation expressed in UML in many others knowledge domain. After get the book knowledge-concept object’s name, property and the basic relations among them, this thesis consider the User Profile and other’s relation, develop a XML markups structure mark up this tradition paper book’s content and transform it into electronic XML documents. This research has implemented MUSE (Musical Slicing Electronic Book) System, an electronic book of music theory. With the markup and slicing techniques, the reader of MUSE System will easily retrieve appropriate, useful contents, and avoid the disorientation and cognitive overhead problems which occur frequently when one reads a electronic book. Thus, our techniques can improve reading efficiency. Chin-Feng Fan 范金鳳 2000 學位論文 ; thesis 62 zh-TW
