Summary: | 碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 視覺傳達設計學研究所 === 88 === The temples in Taiwan present the movement history of people migrated to Taiwan. From the decoration and description of each part, they combine Taiwanese special island characters besides continuing Mainland''s style and manner. The transmit intention of temples are to educate the people, pray blessings and eliminate disasters; therefore, there are individual moral and function when using portraits. This research focus on the territory of 1st and 2nd class ancient temples relics in Taiwan which are classified by the portraits collected in accordance with the nature of their master deified gods and analyzed by different resources of stories for comparison. The conclusions are as below:
Based on the separation of whole temple portraits, it includes the story matters taken from The Three Kingdoms and Buddhism; the former temples all belong to Taoism, and the latter is Buddhism. This proves that
there is absolute relation existed between master deified gods and drawing subject matters. In addition, there is subject matters presented on the right and left side in the temple''s space - Left (Noblesse) Right(Humbleness)、Left(Male) Right(Female)" . In the mean while, there are also matters taken from same nature" for responsive choice and concept of "time order" at the left & right side of the temples (time of Dragon side appears earlier than Tiger side). The drawing structure of the portraits is separated into Left side (passive/visited party、loser/villian、early appearance、leading actor) and Right side(active/visiting party, winner/gentleman, later appearancesupporting actor).
According to the above induction, arrangement of the story subject matters、resource、connections of drawing structure selected for color drawings of temples in Taiwan and a record、portraitsretained work are made together.
