Also, knowledge management(KM) is rapidly becoming an avoidable trend. Further, under global operating environment, the speed of new technology development, information exchanges, and innovations is unprecedented. As a result, with its high potential of value-creation, KM will deeply influence business strategies and should be planned thoroughly. This study aims to investigate the status of businesses’ strategic types, KM, and their relationships with organizational performance. Based on subjects from Taiwan’s top 1000 manufacturers and top 500 service providers, the results can be listed as (1) analyzer and prospector are two most popular strategic types in Taiwan, (2) two main kinds of KM strategy are codification and personalization, (3) business knowledge resources can be classified as innovation, customer, human, and process capital, (4) improving the ability to knowledge acquisition and storage can enhance significantly a business’s values, and (5) businesses should pursue KM’s strategic benefits constantly. These findings can guide businesses how to use KM efficiently and effectively to create sustainable competitive advantages. KeyWord : Business Strategic Type, Knowledge Management, Knowledge Resources
