Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 資訊管理研究所 === 88 === Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a new concept that combines technology and management, integrates all kinds of information in business value chain, and provides opportunities to optimize business processes. Therefore, proceeding business process reengineering (BPR) is necessary before successfully implementing ERP systems. Many researchers have suggested that BPR should be connected to corporate strategies. Besides, as ERP systems grow more and more complex and expensive, it is essential to take strategic vision into their implementation considerations. As a result, this study adopts Miles and Snow’s strategic typology─prospectors, analyzers, defenders and reactors, to investigate the relationship among strategic type, organizational context, ERP and organizational performance. The results show that regarding organizational context for implementing ERP systems and organizational performance, prospectors and analyzers are significantly better than defenders. Besides, the organizational context for implementing ERP systems associates positively and strongly with organizational performance. Furthermore, for analyzers, the better organizational context for implementing ERP systems, the better IT and financial performance. Based on above findings, this study suggests that businesses should emphasize the strategic benefits of ERP systems and understand their own strategic type before ERP implementations. Also, functions and data integration is a critical success factor for successful implementation of ERP systems.
