Description
Summary:碩士 === 大同大學 === 事業經營研究所 === 88 === In the changing environment, the firm has to pursue product innovation to be profitable and maintain the competition stance. As a recent, it is urgent for companies to carry out new product development activities. This is especially the case when domestic firm in the traditional industry must be faced with strong competitive pressure after Taiwan becomes a member of World Trade Organization (WTO). Therefore, this study highlights the conventional industry to analyze the relationship between R&D competence and R&D performance. First, this study identifies the main constructs of R&D competence through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and its performance through exploratory factor analysis. However, since the good-of-fit indices of CFA are poor, this study turns to use exploratory factor analysis to identify the main constructs of R&D competence. Second, this study analyzes the relationship between R&D competence and its performance through multiple regression analysis. Finally, this study examines whether the industry as a moderator, industry, moderates the relationship between R&D competence and its performance by hierarchical regression analysis. According to the empirical results, this study found that the “commitment”, “strategy”, and “process” constructs significantly affect R&D firm-level success; moreover, the “commitment” and “organization” competence significantly affect R&D customer-based success. In addition, this study also found “industry” has no moderating effect on the relationship between R&D competence and its performance.
