Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立師範學院 === 國民教育研究所 === 88 === There are more and more female principles in elementary schools in Taiwan. The female principles have different leadership style with male principles. However, the researches of female principle leadership are not so many in Taiwan. Therefore, the researcher likes to explore this research field. This study is concerned about the female principle''s leadership style at an elementary school. The female researcher joined the principle''s school life for a year and collected data by participant observation, interviews with some focal groups of students, and artifact collections. The researcher divided the research period into four phrases. In the first phrase, the researcher joined the school and collect some basic data of principle in order to understand her more. In the second phrase, the researcher tried to analysis the data and made sure the focus points. At same time, she observed the interaction between the principle and others/ In the tired phase, she became the English teacher in this elementary school and got more commination with the principle and other teachers. In the last phase, the researcher left the research field and wrote the paper. The researcher described the principle''s daily story to show her leadership style. In addition, the researcher tried to find the relationship between females’ characters and the leadership style. Because of these special, individual characters of female, there will be different leadership style with male principle. Also there are some female advantages or some disadvantages for female leadership. The researcher tried to show them in order to create an opportunities for female principles to share with others. The findings are as bellow: Females'' advantage: 1. Female are used to have different roles, so they can change their roles flexible. 2. Female are always sensitive to their job 3. Female leaders have nature maternity ,so they can get along with children in elementary school. 4. Female leaders have the same interests with other female colleagues. 5. Female leaders can develop different models of leadership. Females'' disadvantage: 1. Female have too many different roles in her life, it is easier to be confused. 2. Because of too many different roles , they always didn''t have enough time to do all of their job well. 3. They are suffering by the stereotype of female-leaders. 4. We have a lot of traditional demands for women , they will limit women’s development. 5. They suffered typical educated models when they are young girls.
