The French have many reasons for wanting to protect themselves from the Hollywood insular industry with subsidy ,quota and with assistance in distribution.They take the once glorious country''s film industry as an example, now all but vanished because people stay home and watch their comparatively unregulated TV system. So the French seize the high ground and sniff about not wanting to thinking of culture as something that be sold and bought.
As the Hollywood cimnema "invades" the families in the France, and the French film no longer compete for the attention of foreign audience as the "new wave era", also lost cultral infulences in the outside world and the homeland, and that will be "a threat to the French identity", so the state enforce the protectional measures to non-French TV programmigs and films, obviously Hollywood companies in theUS.Whatever France film industry restart the "new era" or not, it takes time to fllow and study. As the extent of the research, we find things happened there, the French industry changed their thinking, starting to learn the "Hollywood pratice modes",
co-productions, high budget, French-made English film, auidence orientioned and hired the dream-factory workers. Whatever the culture minister Jack Lang encouraged the French cinema industry to change their ways to produce films, but the government still takes care of the "national cinema" of art.
In this research, we find the France government have to overcom the imported film from the US., especially when the foreign language imported films threat their "identity", the majority of the French publics and officals will resist the invasion, because the strong nationalistic heritage. Today, the French government in conjuction with member of European Union and the wide international appeal.Therefore, a definte challenge to Hollywood''s Hegemony may provide a mode for the countries to revision their cinema policy, and promoting a cultural and economic alternative that departsfrom past and capitalist modles.
