YI CHANG 黃怡璋 碩士 東海大學 建築學系 88 The studies of architectural space generally are divided subject-object into two parts. One concept is thoroughly based on Euclidean space theory that is geometrical space, which excludes human being''''s existence. The other concept is based on human being''''s psychology studying human beings impressions; feelings or perceptual image result from architectural space. However, the theory of Merleau-Ponty is based on "Being" of body and world, describing the radical existence of body and space, developing the concept of situation and spatiality that body and space does not exist separately. Neither simple perceptional space nor pure geometrical space, but space and body interact, interweave and chiasm. Therefore, the concept of space is existential space; existence includes space and body. The concept of space is also perceptional phenomenon, the co-functioning of body perception and space draws phenomenon. On Merleau-Ponty''''s perceptional phenomenology, this study discusses complete correlation of subjective body and objective space in order to perceive existence of human and body in essence and in meaning. To probe its thread and investigate its sequence as a descriptive base of essential architectural space, architectural apocalypses of residential space as well. In Merleau-Ponty''''s theory, body''''s motor and perception is the basis and origin of existential world. However in his thinking also has invisible structure of flesh. One existential world is founded on body Being, the other is established by elements between thing and thing; body''''s subjectivity is behind the objective equivalent of structure of flesh. The Being of the body as the base of existential world; architecture is the appearance of nature, thinking comes from being-in-the-world. The existential meaning of architectural essence is between inhabitant body and inhabitant environment. The properties of body''''s perception make situation space absolute, self-evidence, fuzzy, chaos, ambiguity, and randomness immediate, dynamic and circular wholeness. The structure of elements as the base of existential world; architectural space naturally appears the visible and the invisible chiasm of equilibrium balance. The essence of architectural space has existential relationships between things. The relationships are the visible and the invisible structure of situation. After all body can not be separated from situation; meaningful space cannot exist without body being. There are four parts in this essay; the first is the description of Merleau-Ponty''''s theory. The second is the analysis of body perception and the discussion of existential architectural space. The third is the issues of architectural space concerning mode and meaning. The final is the description of comprehensive analysis and discussion about the essence of architectural space. Kuo, Chaolee Liao, Jen-i 郭肇立 廖仁義 2000 學位論文 ; thesis 158 zh-TW |
