For understanding traditional Architecture, to figure out the influence of fengshui acting on traditional Architecture will be inevitable. The theory concerning the human body of the ancient Chinese includes the philosophy about heaven, earth and man; and touches religion, medicine, cultural thinking, etc. This theory influences the traditional culture in every aspect, so does fengshui. By this study, an attempt was made to figure out the relationship between the human body and fengshui. It was also hoped to realize the aspect concerning the human body in fengshui knowledge system. This study started with the understanding of the Chinese traditional knowledge system concerning the human body; then it was extended to discuss the relationship between the human body and the natural environment. After establishing some basic theories about the human body, the study turned to figure out how they were put into practice in fengshui. The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1.Being one branch of Chinese traditional magic, fengshui shares some similar theoretical roots and manipulative patterns with it. 2.The concept of auspice judgement in fengshui came from the analogy between the house and the human body. The bad environmental and spatial composition will be supposed to cause some illness to the human body. 3. Fengshui tried to build an ideal environmental model with opinions concerning the human being himself for living needs. The basic theory of fengshui came from the philosophical thinking of heaven, man and earth of the traditional Chinese, and by the method of traditional magic, it was put into practice in real living space. Behind all the phenomena in fengshui, it revealed that they were the total presence of traditional Chinese culture. Keywords: the body , fengshui 邱博舜 2000 學位論文 ; thesis 134 zh-TW
