Description
Summary:碩士 === 東海大學 === 化學工程學系 === 88 === Biodegradation of phenol by the enriched activated sludge in the aerobic batch system is investigated in this thesis . The effect of rising the concentration of Fe-salt and Mn-salt in culture system is also studied. From the experimental results, it is found that the enriched activated sludge can efficiently biodegrade the phenol compounds. The efficiency of the phenol degradation will be increased with the increase of the phenol concentration when the initial concentration of the phenol is lower than 800 ~ 1000 ppm. When the initial concentration of phenol is as high as 1000~1200ppm, the growth of the activated sludge will be inhibited , and a longer period of lag phase is observed when initial concentration of phenol is up to 1400ppm.If its concentration is furthermore raised to 1600ppm, phenol will kill a part of the activated sludge . With increasing the concentration of Fe-salt and Mn-salt in culture medium, the lag period of Fe-salt rich system can be more reduced . Consequently, increasing the concentration of Fe-Salt will cause a better biodegradation efficiency of activated sludge on phenol compounds than that of increasing the concentration Mn-Salt .
