The study discussed and analyzed the relations between leisure attitude and leisure satisfaction for high school athletic students.
Questionnaire technique was applied to collect data. By the method of investigation, 175 questionnaires were given to the high school athletic students who were studying in public high school or vocational high school in Taipei. The effective copies back here were 175, and the effective collecting rate was 100%.
The instrument for the study was “ high school athletic students leisure activity investigation research.” In the area of leisure attitude, there were totally 36 titles, including three subscales: cognitive, affective and behavioral. Furthermore, in the area of leisure satisfaction, there were totally 24 titles, including six subscales: psychological, educational, social, relaxation, physiological and aesthetic. After investigation, all information was well processed by the software, SPSS 8.0 for Window. The statistical methods for processing data were descriptive statistics, test of homogeneity of proportions and Kendall’s coefficient of rank correlation.
According to the study, the result were listed as follows:
1. The high school athletic students held positive viewpoint and recognition toward leisure attitude; especially, the leisure cognation scores the highest points, but the leisure behavior the least.
2. The high school athletic students of both sexes with different athletic specialties did not have significant difference.
3. The high school athletic students has positive attitude toward leisure satisfaction especially on the relaxation subscale, which scores the highest points; however, the aesthetic subscale scores the lowest points.
4. There was no difference on leisure satisfaction for high school athletic students of both sexes with different athletic specialties.
5. The difference was significant difference among the educational subscale, social subscale, and physiological subscale in the leisure satisfaction for high school athletic students of both sexes.
6. The difference was significant difference among the social subscale, relaxation subscale, and aesthetic subscale for high school athletic students with different athletic specialties.
7. There was a positive relation between the leisure attitude and leisure satisfaction for high school athletic students.
