Therefore, the housing provided for the residential people needs to be arranged based on the range and custom of the people living in that area. People who live in the community often feel inconveniences if the neighborhood installations are too far away from their residence. As a result, the following items are the main subjects to be discussed in this thesis. 1. What kind of neighborhood installation are the convenient ones? One of the most common methods to understand whether the installations in the community are convenient or inconvenient is to establish a standard as a reference. Then the current status of the installations’ distribution needs to be checked to examine whether these installations are in fact within the range or not. In this thesis, both items of installation and distance to reach the installation are two standard categories used to measure the conveniences of installation. 2. How do we use simple method to assess the degree of convenience? It is obvious that the degree of convenience in a community can be assessed by using both the current status of installations after completing their investigation and the assessment standard after its being established. In this regard, the concept of installation’s service percentage can be used to assess the degree of service with respect to each installation. Actually, a circle with service distance as radius and each installation as center is marked on a map of which it was made at the initial stage of investigation to check the percentage of residence covered by this service circle. Similarly, this approach can be extended to the assessment of a single family outside a community. In other words, the actual distance between the single family and the installations of community is compared with the ideal service circle. This thesis is to propose a method of convenient measurement based on the demands of age for each level. According to the results of our investigation toward five different city-government’s residence areas, most of them are located within the ideal service distance. However, there are two items that are still insufficient and they are parking lot and garbage collection arrangement. Overall, the installations designed with the least convenience are those for people of old generation. Therefore, the problems of neighborhood installations are well understood using the method of service circle. Tien-Bih Tsai 蔡添璧 2000 學位論文 ; thesis 116 zh-TW
