Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 營建工程系 === 88 === Abstract The aim of this report is to visualize the flow of internal forces in beams subjected to concentrated loads and to achieve a consistent method for shear-strength predictions. A slender reinforced concrete beam consists of both the D and B regions, where D stands for discontinuity or disturbed, and B stands for beam or Bernoulli. The associated failure modes are proposed as the crushing of concrete and the yielding of tension ties for D and B regions. The shear strength due to crushing of concrete can be predicted by the softened strut-and-tie model, whereas the shear strength due to yielding of tension tie can be estimated by ACI code approach. The accuracy of the proposed procedure was checked by comparing calculated shear strengths with experimental data reported in previous literature, and a satisfactory correlation was found. The proposed physical model can provide valuable insights into the shear strength behavior of reinforced concrete beams under concentrated loads.
