Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 電子工程系 === 88 === The SOT (self-organized transcoding) architecture [1] was proposed as an approach for network adaptive continuous-media applications using Internet multicast communication technologies. The architecture creates multiple multicast groups out of related receiver with similar bad reception to provide local repair through the use of transcoders. In its initial design, the frame work had several drawbacks, left various details un-specified, and many important issues un-examined. In this paper, we perform detailed examination of the original architecture and propose various refinements that make the architecture much more complete, usable, and achieve substantially higher performance. This research is performed extensive simulation. [2] A large number of network topologies and network conditions are investigated to verify our design.
