Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 化學工程系 === 88 === Abstract The goal of this study was the investigation of ozonation effect on landfill leachate treatment. This work included two major parts: one is the effect of deodorization by ozonation on landfill leachate treatment, and the other is the improvement of pre-ozonation in following treatment unit. For the ozone deodorization, ozone reacts readily with hydrogen sulfide, but does not react with ammonia. Volatile fatty acid (VFA) has significant removal rate by ozone in alkaline condition, while acetic acid did not reacted with ozone at neutral and alkaline condition. Moreover, at pH 8 and the amount ozone consumption less than 3.5 mg/L and/or at pH 10 and the amount ozone consumption less than 2.5 mg/L, the pre-ozonation could improve coagulation efficiency. In addition, the ozonation also could improve bio-treatment efficiency. At pH 8 and 10, the optimal ozone consumption were 61.9 mg/L and 450 mg/L, which could raise the ratio of BOD5/CODo from 0.28 to 0.34 and 0.45, respectively. From the experiment results, it was found that ozone could not only deodorize but also improve the efficiency of followed treatment unit. Consequently, ozonation could be applied on the landfill leachate treatment. Key words: landfill leachate, ozonation, deodorization, coagulation, bio-treatment
