A newly developed gas-induced reactor is employed in this study to investigate the treatability for the ozonation of 2-Nitrophenolic wastewater by means of ozone processes. The study includes the decomposition effect of 2-Nitrophenol, ozone utilization rate, and the variation of ADMI value and COD value in the reaction, under the conditions of different pH values, 2-Nitrophenol initial concentrations, and ozone input concentrations. From experimental results, it is showed that the elimination rate of 2-Nitrophenol increases with increasing both pH value and ozone dosage, except for an occurrence of a restriction effect under a higher pH value. It is also found that the ozone utilization rate increase with the increase in pH value and still maintained at high values under various initial concentrations of wastewater. A better treatment of the COD decreasing was attributed to increasing both pH values and ozone input concentrations. During the ozonation, ADMI value varied with the pH value and ozone input concentration, and a higher ADMI value was occurred while pH value was increased. Moreover, an increase in ozone input concentration could accelerate the ADMI value elimination rate. In operation costs, the cost needed for ozonation of 2-Nitrophenolic wastewater under the conditions of 2-Nitrophenol initial concentration 500mg/L and pH 7 is about 16.9 NT$/ton.
