Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 機械工程學研究所 === 88 === Because of long and wide research of the High Speed Machining (HSM), relative techniques such as high-speed spindles, controllers and materials of the tool have outstanding improvements and make HSM practicable. HSM is the process that has three characters: high spindle speed, shallow depth of cut and high speed feed. For HSM, selection of the cutting parameters depends on different materials and suitable one can get the good surface quality we need. Cutting parameters also result in different cutting force and cutting temperature, which have relationship with surface quality. This thesis observes cutting force and cutting temperature in turning, and also analysis cutting force and surface quality in milling. I hope this will be helpful in selection of cutting parameters.
HSM not only needs the hinge of techniques of the hardware but also applications of the software such as designation of the cutting path. Only we have good software, we can use our hardware perfect. We need to consider a lot about cutting path of HSM such as HSM is a kind of high speed feed process, chip load should keep constant when working…etc. High speed feed is a major reason that can raise material removing rate, but acceleration and deceleration of the feed will spend certain time. And the higher the speed of feed, the worse the situation. Besides, the tool must deceleration in one direction and acceleration in the other in the corner and this will cause vibrations of the machine tool. The thesis analysis and observe this bad situation and the results will be reference.
