Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 園藝學研究所 === 88 === The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of vegetation on mitigating individual''s state-anxiety. The treatments are different groups of color slides. Pre- and post-tests of state anxiety were measured with the S-Anxiety scale of the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), and the anxiety level was the comparison of the two scores. Majority of the subjects are collage students of National Taiwan University, and only one group is people who join the greening class. The results are summarized as follows:
1. Urban vegetation did can mitigate subjects'' state anxiety.
2. The mitigating effects of vegetation is affected by several factors, such as vegetation''s amount and planting environments. Generally speaking, the more the vegetation''s amount and the diversity of the planting environments, the better the mitigating effect.
3. Color of the plants is not significantly affecting the mitigating effect in this study.
4. The mitigating effect of vegetation on state anxiety is universal.
