Bus priority signal has been developed for many years in foreign countries, but it still isn’t applied practically in Taiwan. Take Taipei Metropolitan Bus System as an example, there are totally 293 routes, 3550 buses belong to 10 different companies. Nowadays, 7 exclusive bus lanes have been set up in 7 arterial roads. Bus platoon occurs usually, because 70% of the bus stations are near-sided. In order to construct a proper bus priority system for domestic bus characteristics, we should study several relative topics such as bus flow, system design, development of control models, and selection of control parameters. In order to estimate bus departure time precisely, this study develops a formula based on time-space diagram concept and conditional probability function. The formula is used to estimate the time taken from entering the bus station until departing the stop line for bus platoon. In the study we call it, Departure Need Time (DNT). The Bus Priority Signal control strategies include Green extension, Red truncation, and GERT. (The GERT means a compound strategy combining Green extension with Red truncation.) The results of the simulation studies perform as part of this study suggested that the Bus Priority Signal could be used at most of the traffic. Tien-Pen Hsu 許添本 2000 學位論文 ; thesis 160 zh-TW |
