It is assumed that a structure can be divided into individual components and by evaluating ultimate capacities of such elements, it is possible to find the ultimate capacity of the whole structure. A sensitivity analysis on the plate thickness is also made for evaluating the influences of different hull structures. For the risk analysis of a ship under collision or grounding, an evaluation model based on the fuzzy set theory is thus adopted for validationand of the current approach. Moreover, a numerical program is further developed on the basis of the present approach. The results of numerical calculations are also compared with those in the literatures. It is shown that the self-developed program is quite reasonable and applicable for the designers. Finally, the proposed fuzzy set model can be used to evaluate the risk of a ship hull under accident via the simple example illustrated in the thesis. 郭信川 張建仁 2000 學位論文 ; thesis 106 zh-TW
