The purpose of this research is:(1)Exploring how the compressive strength of test object bond differ in the profession and school training (Vocational Training Center).
(2)Investigating the differences (if there are any) of the sizes of the brick laying test object in the professional field. (3)Exploring the differences of the compressive strength in various bricklaying methods in the academy (Vocational Training Center).
This research aims to explore the relativity of structural strength, using data collected from written texts, evaluation of experts and scholars, and research experiments. The data was organized by statistical methods such as T-test and one-way ANOVA, in the hope of providing building bricklayers with references for designing and brick laying.
The discoveries of this research:
First, The compressive strength of the brick wall layed by schools (Vocational Training Center) is better than that in the profession.
Second, In evaluating professional brick laying, the values of length, height, vertical joint, horizontal joint and uniformity of vertical joint displays good quality; while the smooth, uniformity of horizontal joint, both horizontal and vertical mortar filling, and brick cutting show less quality.
Third, In the various methods taught in school training, considering the rupture toleration degree of brick wall test object, Flemish Bond is better than the English Bond, the English Bond qualifies better than the Heading Bond, while the heading bond exceeds the American Bond.
Fourth, Among the five test object, the Flemish Bond in school reaches the average compressive strength value of 85% applied in this research, while the English Bond in school demonstrates 79%, the Heading Bond in school 74%, the American Bond in school 63%, the English Bond in professional 57%.
As opposed to the applied documentary texts that the different methods of brick laying is irrelevant to the structural strength, the result of this research demonstrates otherwise.
