The subjects are 993 sixth-grade students and 820 fathers and 882 mothers selected from 12 elementary schools in Tainan City. The instruments used in the study are: Gender-Role Attitude Questionnaire, Child-Rearing Gender-Role Attitude Questionnaire, Students’ Gender-Role Attitude Questionnaire and A Series of Academic Aptitudes Test . The statistic analysis is performed with descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and correlation. The obtained results indicate as follows: 1. The gender-role attitudes of parents and students both tend to be equal, while child-rearing gender-role attitudes of parents tend to be stereotyped. 2. The correlation between parents’ gender-role attitudes and their child-rearing gender-role attitudes is significant. 3. Students’ gender-role attitudes are significantly related to parents’ gender-role attitudes and child-rearing gender- role attitudes respectively. 4. The gender-role attitudes of male and female students aren’t significantly related to their discrepancy between academic aptitudes(language reasoning and quantity comparing );The gender-role attitudes of female students aren’t also related significantly to their discrepancy between academic achievements , while the gender-role attitudes of male students are related negatively and significantly to their discrepancy between academic achievements(Math and Language;Society and Nature). 5. As for the difference of parents’ backgrounds on their gender-role attitudes and child-rearing gender-role attitudes, parents''gender-role attitudes and child-rearing gender-role attitudes are not effected by age and occupational types but sex and educational degrees. 6. Sixth-grade students’ academic aptitudes are related significantly to their academic achievements. Applications for the results of the research and suggestions for the family, schools and future research are also provided in the study. 黃怡瑾 2000 學位論文 ; thesis 170 zh-TW
