The FEM software Ansoft/Maxwell is utilized to analyze the magnetic field distribution of the hysteresis brake. The Jiles and Atherton (JA) hysteresis model is adopted to model the hysteresis loops of magnetic materials. The brake torque is then calculated from the results of field analysis and JA model. Experimental equipment is established to verify the correctness of the proposed analysis method and numerical simulation.
