Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 土木工程系碩士班 === 88 === The flexible pavement material such as asphalt concrete is influenced significantly due to the factor of temperature. Based on the Endochronic theory with the effect of temperature, a series of equations have been derived by previous researcher for describing its stress-strain behavior. However, the application of numerical method to this important issue is rarely seen up to the present time. Therefore, this study is an attempt to use the principle of virtual work for combining the theory with finite element method. A new incremental governing equation is then developed, and a computers program is designed to analyze the behaviors of a compressive specimen in a three dimensional manner. The computational results are compared with available experimental measurements to verify accuracy of the present finite element model. In addition, the isotropic response and deviatoric response of the specimen under uniform pressure are properly described from various plots of different layers and 3-D deformations. The results may provide valuable information for a practical engineer in the design of flexible pavement material.
