Synopsis of Thesis:
The theme of the research is to discuss personal background variables of Kaohsiung senior-grade students、parent-child communication about “sex” questions、the relation between sexual knowledge and sexual attitude. 5 purposes are set forth as following:
1. Analyze the actual situations for the senior-grade students of Kaohsiung primary schools entering (having not entered)adolescence、parent-child communication about “sex” questions、sexual knowledge and sexual attitude.
2. Discuss the differences among the background variables of senior-grade students of Kaohsiung primary schools、 parent-child communication about “sex” questions、sexual knowledge and sexual attitude.
3. Compare the differences among the background variables of senior-grade students of Kaohsiung primary schools、 parent-child communication about “sex” questions、 sexual knowledge and sexual attitude.
4. Discuss the relation among parent-child communication about “sex” questions、sexual knowledge and sexual attitude of the senior-grade students of Kaohsiung primary schools.
5. Discuss the function of which the different background variables of senior-grade students of Kaohsiung primary schools and parent-child communication about “sex” questions predict for sexual knowledge and sexual attitude respectively.
Above all, collect the relevant archives to discuss and analyze and regard them as the fundamentals of the research structure to attain the research ends. As regards substantial research, The researcher took all senior-grade students of Kaohsiung primary schools as an object of study. The researcher investigated 850 students with a “Sexual Education Questionnaire of Senior-Grade Students of Primary Schools” compiled by themselves as their research instrument, and only 729 students left as effective examples. The outcome of their research gained from the analysis by adopting the methods such as depiction statistics、one-way ANONA、MANOVA、Pearson Product moment correlation、stepwise multiple regression analysis etc.. The outcomes are set forth as below:
1. The degree of parent-child communication about “sex” questions in senior-grade students of Kaohsiung primary schools、the frequency and attitude of fathers’ communication shall be improved.
2. High-degree sexual knowledge and positive sexual attitude showed in senior-grade students of Kaohsiung elementary schools.
3. A great difference showed in the sexual knowledge of senior-grade students of Kaohsiung elementary schools goes by sex、parents’ education degree、entering (having not entered) adolescence、parent-child communication about “sex” questions, but does not goes by parents’ marital status.
4. A great difference showed in the sexual attitude of
senior-grade students of Kaohsiung elementary schools goes by sex、entering (having not entered) adolescence、 parent-child communication about “sex” questions, but does not goes by parents’ education degree and marital status.
5. A great difference showed in the sexual attitude of
senior-grade students of Kaohsiung elementary schools goes by mothers’ education degree、the interaction of parent-child communication about “sex” questions, but does not goes by other background variables nor the interaction of parent-child communication about “sex” questions.
6. Parent-child communication about “sex” questions in
senior-grade students of Kaohsiung elementary schools concerns greatly with sexual knowledge and all levels concerned、sexual attitude and all levels concerned.
7. The frequency of mother-child communication about “sex” questions greatly influences the prediction for the sexual knowledge of senior-grade students of Kaohsiung elementary schools. Similarly, mother-child communication attitude about “sex” questions greatly influences the prediction for sexual attitude of senior-grade students of Kaohsiung primary schools.
The researcher made proposition to parents、sexual education advocates、counselors and administrative authorities of education by virtue of the outcome of the above research as a reference to education、counseling and research.
