Description
Summary:碩士 === 國防醫學院 === 牙醫科學研究所 === 88 === The I.R.O.D.(implant-retained overdenture) with stud type attachment has been more popularly used as a new prosthetic method to help edentulous patients. In the aspect of implant health and preventing implant overloading, thoroughly understanding of peri-implant stress, especially the relations between attachment and peri-implant stress characteristics is required. In this pilot study, we prepared a photoelastic birefringent material mandibular model, with two I.R.O.D. on it. One with O-ring attachment the other with Magnetic attachment. In a loading frame we use force of 5, 10, 20, 30kg, vertical direction on 43,46 position, oblique direction on 33,36 position. then checked with a circularly polariscope system, after compare with each other of the isochromic fringes of O-ring and Magnetic attachments, we could see the difference between these two stud type attachments. The results of the experiment shows that O-ring attachment cause more lateral peri-implant stress then Magnetic attachment.
