Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 國際企業管理研究所 === 88 === Owing to strengthen the weakness of explaining some case with existed domestic or foreign literatures related to "Entry Mode" this research is trying to find the relationship or influence between entry mode and patent protection in biotech industry. This research takes three analyzing ways to dig out the possible answer of the questioning from the above observation, including country-base ANOVA, mailing questionnaires, and interviewing. The findings of this research are as followings: 1. There is surely existing the difference among the biotech patent protection of 12 sampling countries, including Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, China, Indonesia, Philippine, Italy, France, Germany, British, USA, and Canada. 2. Whether the nation is, all firms take the fairness of host lawsuit or infringement litigation of patent as most influential factor when selecting or changing a suitable entry mode. 3. Besides, the objection is more influential to "mode-selecting of foreign firms into Taiwan Market" than to "mode-selecting of Taiwan firms into foreign Markets". As for the non-for-profit business; more internationalized the firm is, more influential non-profit regulation is. 4. If firms take host patent protection into consideration while changing entry mode, most of them will raise the control instead of reducing it as the conclusion derived from most existed literature related. 5. It goes without saying that the host patent protection would affect the selecting or changing of entry mode; however, it''''s not direct or pure influential relationship between entry mode and host patent protection. Mostly, host patent protection affects the entry mode with R&D subsidiaries established or not, global logistic, competitive strategies, experience of internationalization, culture of home country or HQ, some unexpected litigation, the gap of recognition of patent protection between host and home country, and response to the strategy of HQ, and etc..
